John Coltrane - Giant Steps

£19.99

Giant Steps is a 1960 studio album by John Coltrane on Atlantic Records, his first as leader for the label. Widely regarded as one of the most influential jazz albums, several tracks became standards. It entered the Library of Congress’s National Recording Registry in 2004 and went gold in 2018 (500,000 sold). Track titles reflect personal ties: "Naima" and "Syeeda's Song Flute" honour his wife and her daughter, "Mr. P.C." references bassist Paul Chambers, and "Cousin Mary" refers to his cousin Mary Lyerly.
